Since the release of my book, Daphne and Thekla just before Christmas, I've been working on the book launch. It will be this Sunday, January 24th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at WIRED? cybercafe. I'm thrilled that the Alana Grier Trio will provide music and there were be refreshments from Chocolate Maven and other nibblies. I hope that you have it on your calendar, if you live in Taos.
One of the things I love about being in Taos is that we get hoar-frost. While I knew the term, I'd never been aware of it until living here. What a delight to wake up to. It disappears so quickly that you have to pay attention before it melts in the warmth of the day's sun.
Sometimes writing is like that. Ideas come when you least expect them. I've been doing research on a new book sporadically since I want to focus on my newest book's promotion. The idea keeps nagging at me so I have to give in to it at times. Last week, I headed out of the house for an appointment and as I drove a scene for the idea I'm developing popped into my head. I got so wrapped up in it, that I was halfway to my destination before I thought about my garage door and wondered whether I had closed it. Of course, I turned around and went home to discover that I the door was closed. There are times when I just have to laugh at myself being consumed with the process of developing a story.
