Writing Chases Me
It is as if an internal switch has been turned on within me. Once I began writing, I couldn't stop. Ideas and people come to mind who have interesting and often unknown stories. While there is more that could be written about my life abroad, my attention has been diverted to explore the lives of ancient women, particularly those of the Bible. I've always found it hard to accept the strongly negative descriptions of these women that are delivered in sermons and church litrature. Even historical documents provide little information about women of earlier ages. Until recently, the women's lives were always described from a male point of view. But what would their stories be like if they were told by another woman. My attempt to do this unfolds in the most recent book, Daphne and Thekla.
